St. Teresa Hospital Welcomes Three New Medical Doctors to Serve Local Communities

The administration of St. Teresa Hospital on Wednesday April 9th 2025, welcome three newly recruited medical doctors to further enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to the local communities.

Dr. Taban Charles, an Associate Consultant in Gynecology and the Medical Director of St. Teresa Hospital, told Anisa radio that, the new doctors will assume roles in the departments of Surgery, Pediatric, Child Health care, and the Maternity Ward.

Dr. Charles, said among the new recruits, one is a female doctor who will specialize in Pediatric and Child Health, focusing on the healthcare needs of children at the facility. The other two doctors will be handling surgical and maternity cases, ensuring patients receive specialized care across a variety of medical services.  

The St. Teresa hospital medical doctor, said the new appointments came following a recent advert by the hospital administration seeking qualified medical professionals to support the growing healthcare needs of the community.  

“Recently we have been running an advert, for recruiting medical doctors and yield is so good we got three doctors, one is going to cover the department of surgery, the other one is going to cover the department of pediatric and child health, then the other one is going to be in maternity. For the first time we have got a female doctor who is passionate about the well-being of a child”. Charles state

Dr. Charles noted that so far, in terms of human resource capacity, the hospital is doing well, and acknowledges the stance of His lordship Bishop Edwardo Hiiboro Kussala for his continued efforts and support to ensure the hospital has access to top-tier medical professionals.

The new recruits bring the total number of medical doctors at St. Teresa Hospital to four, alongside a dedicated team of nurses and midwives. Together, the team works diligently to address the health concerns of the people in the state and the neighboring foreign countries.
