In a vibrant display of environmental responsibility and community spirit, the Franz Bracht Environmental Club organized a large-scale clean-up exercise to mark World Environment Day 2025. Guided by this year’s global theme, “End Plastic Pollution,” the initiative mobilized students, teachers, and even young children from the Ngboko community to take action against the growing threat of plastic waste.

The clean-up exercise covered several key locations in Ngboko, including the market, health center, carpentry section, pilgrim section, and both Camp 1 and Camp 2.

“This initiative not only helped improve the cleanliness of our environment but also raised awareness among students and the wider community about the harmful impact of plastic pollution,” said Franz Bracht club groups leader, “It reminded us all of the urgent need to take responsibility for our surroundings and protect our planet.”

Established in 1972 by the United Nations during the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5 since 1973, when it was first marked under the theme, “Only One Earth”. The 2025 event has focused on ending plastic pollution.
