At least 100 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who fled recent conflict in Rii-Rangu Payam and now sheltering in Ngindo Boma, Yambio County, received emergency non-food items on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025. The relief was provided by the Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (CODEP) in partnership with Caritas South Sudan.

The distribution is part of CODEP’s ongoing humanitarian response to the growing needs of displaced families affected by escalating violence in the area. The emergency non-food items included plastic sheets, blankets, jerricans, mosquito nets, sleeping mats, and other essentials aimed at improving basic living conditions.

The aid targeted the most vulnerable among the displaced population; elderly individuals, expectant mothers, people with disabilities, and child-headed households.

This latest distribution marks another significant step in CODEP’s broader mission to serve displaced and marginalized populations across the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio. Since the outbreak of conflict in the area, CODEP, in collaboration with its partners, has been delivering both food and non-food assistance to those in urgent need.
