The Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Tambura-Yambio, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, has called for peace, unity, and collaborative leadership following the arrival of the newly appointed Governor of Western Equatoria State, H.E. Daniel Badangbu Rimbasa, who touched down in Yambio on Wednesday morning.

Welcoming the Governor, Bishop Hiiboro expressed gratitude for his safe arrival and urged him to work closely with colleagues in government to advance development and harmony across the state.

“Thank you for the safe arrival, H.E. Governor. May our Lord take ownership of the administration, leadership, collaboration, and work for peace with your colleagues in the state,” Bishop Hiiboro said.

The Bishop extended his prayers beyond Western Equatoria, appealing for lasting peace among all communities across South Sudan. “May you, O Lord, be the guide, the road map, and the authority through which this state can be administered in peace and coexistence for all,” he added.

Bishop Hiiboro underscored that peace remains the cornerstone of progress, stressing that conflict cannot yield development. He urged citizens in counties, payams, and bomas to embrace dialogue as the most effective way to address disputes.

“The people of South Sudan need peace. Dialogue is the best way to solve problems among all in the world,” he noted.

Governor Rimbasa’s arrival signals a new chapter for Western Equatoria State, with faith leaders and community members expressing hope that his administration will prioritize reconciliation, stability, and development.
