The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura-Yambio, His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, has urged St. Tereza Mission Hospital in Nzara to sustain its long-standing spiritual program, emphasizing its importance in supporting both patients and hospital staff.

Speaking during a pastoral visit to the hospital, Bishop Hiiboro noted that spiritual initiatives play a vital role in strengthening institutions and should not be discontinued. He stressed that prayer and spiritual guidance are essential elements of healing and serve as a source of motivation for healthcare workers.
“The spiritual program has been here before this year. Let it continue without fail because all patients and staff have access to prayers,” Bishop Hiiboro said.

He explained that the program helps patients find comfort and hope during illness while encouraging medical staff to carry out their duties with dedication and faith.
“In everything that we do, God comes first because He opens the way for everyone to do the work perfectly, especially workers who save lives of people,” the Bishop added.
According to Bishop Hiiboro, priests and hospital personnel will continue to lead prayers and organize spiritual sessions based on a structured schedule to ensure regular participation.

The Bishop emphasized that spiritual support is not only a tradition but also a source of strength for the hospital community, contributing to holistic wellness by complementing medical care with faith-based support.
St. Tereza Mission Hospital Nzara, one of the key healthcare facilities in Western Equatoria State, has long integrated spiritual activities into its daily operations. Bishop Hiiboro’s call reinforces the importance of sustaining this practice as part of comprehensive and compassionate care for the community.
