On 21st of September 2025, St. Peter Catholic Parish, Namaku, joyfully welcomed the pastoral visit of Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura–Yambio (CDTY). The occasion was distinguished by two central moments: a fundraising drive for the purchase of a parish sound system and the solemn celebration of the sacraments.

In the presence of thousands of faithful, the bishop conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation of about 59 children, while among them were also some close to 100 candidates who earlier received their First Holy Communion. This gathering, held nearly three years after the bishop’s last visit to the parish.
Following these highlights, Bishop Hiiboro addressed the parishioners with fatherly words of encouragement. He called on the faithful to remain committed to peace, to bring up their children with faith and integrity, and to continue building a God-fearing community that grows in both spiritual depth and human development. He reminded the Christians of their vocation to shine as witnesses of the Gospel in society and to work hand in hand for the advancement of the Church and the local community.

Present at the occasion was a government delegation led by the Governor of Western Equatoria State, H.E. James Alteib. In his address, the governor pledged his support to the parish, promising among other contributions a super generator for the parish church. He also urged the faithful to embrace peace, foster dialogue in community life, and to remain hardworking and well-rooted in spiritual guidance.
In a gesture of respect and gratitude, the Christian community offered him gifts, including consumable goods and produce from their farms, symbolizing the bond between faith, culture, and daily life.
