As pupils and pupils across South Sudan continues with their Primary Leaving Examination and students prepare to sit for National Examinations, bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura–Yambio (CDTY) shared a message of encouragement and spiritual support to all pupils and students

In a pastoral letter dated 23rd November 2025 the bishop extends his blessings to all candidates, recognizing their dedication and resilience throughout the academic year.
Addressing them warmly as “Beloved Children of South Sudan,” the bishop celebrated the courage each learner has shown from early mornings and late-night study sessions to the determination to keep learning despite challenges
The local ordinary of CDTY reminded students to walk into examination season not alone but accompanied by God, their families, teachers, ancestors, and an entire nation that believes in them. He affirms the value of their hard work and encourages them to approach their exams with confidence, trust, and calm.
He also emphasizes the importance of memory, identity, and faith calling on the Holy Spirit to enlighten their minds, Christ to strengthen their hearts, and Mother Mary to walk with them throughout the examination period.

In his letter, he echoed the words of Pope Francis, who urges young people not to hide their talents but to dream boldly. He also draws from the teachings of bishop Joseph Gasi and other elders who cherished education as the foundation of a stronger, more hopeful South Sudan.
He reassured candidates that the entire country is behind them—cheering for their success, praying for their clarity, and celebrating their perseverance. The blessing also acknowledges the contribution of teachers, parents, and guardians who have walked faithfully with students throughout the school year.
