The celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King was filled with profound joy and spiritual renewal as the Catholic Action Apostolic Group welcomed more than one hundred new members into their fold. The newly admitted candidates joined the long-serving members in reaffirming their mission of service within the Church and the wider community.
The event was presided over by the diocesan Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kusala, whose presence added special significance to the celebration. The bishop, who originally founded the Catholic Action movement in Central Africa during his early years as a priest, blessed the new candidates and encouraged them to embrace their responsibilities with dedication and humility. His deep historical connection to the movement brought a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration to the faithful present.
During the Mass, the bishop also offered a special blessing to Primary 8 pupils preparing to sit for the South Sudan Primary Leaving Examinations. He urged the students to face their examinations with courage, confidence, and trust in God, assuring them of the Church’s prayers and support.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the parish community embodied the spirit of a self-reliant Church by generously contributing toward the ongoing construction of the Cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio. Their collective support, marked by unity and shared responsibility, highlighted the community’s commitment to building both a physical sanctuary and a strong spiritual foundation for future generations.
Before the liturgy began, the bishop spent time with the children, offering blessings and warm fatherly encouragement—an encounter that delighted the young ones and set a joyful tone for the day’s celebration.
In his message to the renewed members of Catholic Action, the bishop called them to steadfastness, urging them to remain firm in their faith and to serve with humility while living out Gospel values in their everyday lives. The celebration concluded with a solemn final blessing, during which the bishop sprinkled holy water over the congregation—an especially meaningful gesture following nearly two months of his pastoral absence from the diocese.
The day closed with a sense of unity, gratitude, and renewed mission, as the faithful embraced their call to continue building a vibrant Church rooted in service, faith, and communion.
