Yambio – The Catholic Diocese of Tombura–Yambio (CDTY) has assigned two of its clergy to serve in the Catholic Diocese of Malakal for a three-year term, in a move aimed at strengthening pastoral ministry and inter-diocesan cooperation in South Sudan.

The appointments were announced in a communiqué titled Diocesan Structural Number A, issued by Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala and dated January 4. The communiqué forms part of a wider series of diocesan assignments released this month.

According to the announcement, Rev. Wenengbi Moses and Deacon John Bangasu have been officially appointed to serve in the Malakal Diocese. Rev. Wenengbi Moses was previously serving under the Ezo Vicariate, while Deacon John Bangasu was recently ordained alongside five other deacons.

The two clergy will formally transfer from the Catholic Diocese of Tombura–Yambio to begin their new pastoral responsibilities in Malakal, where they are expected to contribute to both spiritual care and administrative duties within the diocese.

Church officials noted that the assignments are intended to promote cooperation, solidarity, and shared mission among Catholic dioceses across the country, particularly in response to evolving pastoral needs.

Rev. Wenengbi Moses and Deacon John Bangasu are expected to assume their duties immediately as they begin their three-year term of service in the Malakal Diocese.
